The Time of Angels is the episode that proves one thing about Steven Moffat. Not only does Steven Moffat suck and set to destroy everything that was good about Doctor Who, he's one of the few who somehow able to ruin his own creation. On its second appearance. I mean, come on, this is some Silver Age Superman bullshit.
It's the first of a two-parter concluding with Flesh and Stone and it stars River Song before she became terrible. And frankly, she's still good here and I'd rather see her powerwalking through spaceship interior for 45 minutes than seeing entire Angels lore being dismantled. So basically it's about how everything we knew about Angels is wrong. Remember how we shouldn't blink? Well, guess what, you are out of luck, fucker. And they won't send you back in time. And they can talk.
Space marines were kinda cool though. Entire episode could probably be good, if only it was not about Weeping Angels. How about Snickering Devils? That'd make sense.
It's Aliens, only with Angels.
No-one quite knows where they came from, but they're as old as the Universe, or very nearly...
The image of an angel is an Angel.
As above, so below.
A living mental image in a living human mind. [...] There's an Angel in her mind.
What if we had ideas that could think for themselves? What if one day our dreams no longer needed us? When these things occur and are held to be true, the time will be upon us. Steven Moffat's™ The Time of Angels® presented this saturday® on BBC One™ and in HD© on BBC One HD™.
